Existing Projects and Experiences in Implementation

  • Integrated community-based programs in Addis Ababa City Administration

  • Temporary shelter that serves as a safe house for women and young girls that have survived gender-based violence including domestic violence

Integrated Community-Based Development Program

  • Awareness creation on RH/FP/HIV/AIDS and GBV

  • Community-based awareness creation package on literacy, campaign, sustainable gardening and IGAs, business skills, and family matters

  • School-level environment program that promotes environmental sanitation and personal hygiene

  • Life skills training in schools: Peer education on Awareness creation on RH/FP/HIV/AIDS/GBV and creation of safe school environment

  • Referral services to other NGOs and GOs for legal, health, education, and counseling issues

Temporary Shelter Service Program with the following in- and out-shelter services

  • Provision of basic services for food, clothing, and shelter to resident and non-resident survivors of GBV/DV

  • Clinical services

  • GBV individual, group, and peer counseling services

  • Marriage counseling

  • Basic skills training for self employment in basket making, embroidery, dry food processing, urban agriculture, cooking and more

  • Life skills training
